Primary School

Printer-friendly version

The first Noarlunga Primary School was opened in a private dwelling in 1852 and the school was gazetted in 1859. The school will celebrate 150 years this year- 2009. The current enrolment is stable (approximately 60-70 students) and new housing developments indicate potential growth in the coming years.

It is one of the oldest schools in the metropolitan area and the huge gum tree overlooking the sports field is over 300 years old.

School

Our School values are:

* Respect * Responsibility * Friendliness

Our Motto: "Small School, Big Heart”

Though small in student numbers and size, the school has a strong sense of family and community. Staff are able to develop strong, trusting relationships with every student in the school through their close interactions with them and students have regular contact with several adults with whom they can form sound, caring relationships. Students across all year levels also have regular contact with each other and form strong bonds. Cross age activities and events and older students mentoring younger students are common practices. Many parents and community members participate in the life of the school through fundraising activities, offering their expertise in extra-curricular programs and assisting with supervision on excursions.
